Weekly Report, 2025-07-28 to 2025-08-03

During the week from July 28 to August 3, 2025, the Service Juridique received a total of 19 consultations concerning various consumer protection issues. The majority of these consultations were conducted through video calls and phone, while a small number were initiated through reddit.

The predominant issue this week involved unfair business practices, which was addressed in 11 cases. Consumers sought guidance on how to handle situations where they experienced deceptive marketing tactics and exploitative contractual terms. In these instances, our counsel advised consumers to document all communications and transactions meticulously. They were also informed about their rights to cancel contracts under certain conditions and were guided on how they could pursue legal recourse if necessary.

In addition to unfair practice inquiries, we also encountered 8 consultations concerning health claims in food. Consumers were primarily concerned with misleading nutritional and health benefit claims made by food products. In response, we provided detailed information on EU regulations regarding health claims in food products and advised consumers to critically evaluate product labels and promotional materials. Consumers were recommended to file formal complaints if they identified discrepancies between advertised and actual benefits.

Throughout the week, the Service Juridique focused on empowering consumers with the knowledge to protect themselves from potential exploitation. There were no instances of counseling failing to address consumer inquiries due to issues falling outside the scope of our services.

This week counseling was provided by WhizzBang.
