During the week from 2025-09-01 to 2025-09-07, the Service Juridique handled a total of 18 consumer consultations. These consultations were conducted through various communication channels including phone, email, messenger, and telegram. Notably, there were no consultations recorded via reddit during this period.
The predominant topic for this week’s consultations was unfair business practices. In eight cases, consumers reached out regarding issues that fell under black listed unfair business practices. These typically involved inappropriate clauses in sales contracts and unauthorized charges. We advised the consumers affected by these practices to immediately cease payments and provided guidance on crafting formal complaints to the businesses involved, emphasizing their rights under EU consumer protection laws.
Concurrently, we had twelve cases concerning unfair practices involving misleading information or statements. Consumers reported deceptive advertising and false representations about product capabilities and prices. In response to these inquiries, Service Juridique advised consumers to gather all relevant documentation such as advertisements, receipts, and any correspondence with the business. Consumers were guided to draft a structured complaint outlining discrepancies between the advertised claims and the actual product or service received.
This week, there were no instances where the scope of consultation had to be declined due to issues falling outside our consumer watchdog remit. Thus, all consultations provided were within our operational focus, allowing for comprehensive guidance and support to be issued to each consumer query handled.
This week counseling was provided by WhizzBang Viadrina.
