Weekly Report, 2025-09-29 to 2025-10-05

During the week from September 29 to October 5, 2025, the Service Juridique handled a total of 20 consumer consultations. Various communication channels were utilized, including reddit, telegram, messenger, and phone, to provide timely legal guidance.

A notable number of consultations, specifically six, involved issues pertaining to unfair business practices as specified on the blacklist. Consumers were informed about their rights and advised on appropriate actions they could take against such practices, with a focus on documenting and reporting these incidents thoroughly.

The topic of (unfair) general terms and conditions was addressed in four cases. In these instances, the Service Juridique provided detailed explanations of the clauses that were deemed unfair and assisted consumers in understanding how to negotiate or push back against these terms effectively.

We received three inquiries related to the right to repair. Consumers were guided on how to invoke their right to have faulty products repaired, including the legal steps required to ensure compliance from businesses and what recourse was available should a business fail to honor these obligations.

Concerning health claims in food, two consultations were conducted. In these cases, the Service Juridique clarified the regulation of health claims within the EU and advised consumers on how to challenge misleading or unsupported claims found on food products.

The remaining five consultations involved unfair business practices not explicitly listed. For these complex cases, the Service Juridique provided comprehensive advice tailored to the specific circumstances of the consumers, emphasizing the importance of gathering evidence and the potential for legal recourse if the issues persisted.

One consultation was deemed outside our scope as it pertained to a taxation issue, which does not fall under consumer protection within the EU framework. Although we do not handle such matters, we ensured the consumer understood the limitations of our service without providing further direction.

The Service Juridique remains committed to offering informed and effective consumer protection advice, leveraging multiple communication channels to reach a broad audience and ensure consumer rights are upheld across the European Union.

This week counseling was provided by WhizzBang Viadrina.
