Consumers reached out through various communication channels, including <i>mastodont<\/i>, <i>e-mail<\/i>, <i>koerier<\/i>, <i>telegram<\/i>, <i>telefoon<\/i>en <i>video-oproep<\/i> to seek guidance on a range of consumer protection issues.<\/p>\n<p>In four instances, consumers approached us regarding <b>reizigersrechten (vliegreizen)<\/b>. The primary concern was related to flight cancellations and delays. Consumers were advised to collect all relevant travel documents and correspondence with the airlines, and to request compensation in writing under EU Regulation 261\/2004.<\/p>\n<p>We encountered three cases involving <b>het niet verstrekken van verplichte informatie<\/b>. Consumers were particularly affected by this issue while purchasing goods online. Our advice was to demand the disclosure of all legally required information from the sellers, including terms and conditions, in written form, to ensure transparency and compliance with the Consumer Rights Directive.<\/p>\n<p>Twee raadplegingen waren gericht op <b>(oneerlijke) algemene voorwaarden<\/b>, where agreements contained potentially unlawful clauses. We guided the consumers to request a detailed review of the terms from the businesses and to assert their rights under the Unfair Contract Terms Directive to negotiate fairer terms.<\/p>\n<p>In six cases, our consultations revolved around <b>oneerlijke praktijken (cold calling)<\/b>. Upon receiving unsolicited calls, consumers were advised to officially register their numbers with the do-not-call registry and to report any further infractions to the relevant enforcement authorities for appropriate action.<\/p>\n<p>Another session included connate issues linked to <b>bank<\/b> where consumers faced undue charges or unclear terms from financial institutions. We assisted them in drafting a formal request for clarifications addressed to their banks, invoking their right to transparency under the EU Consumer Credit Directive.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, there was an instance where the issue brought up fell outside our scope, as it was related to real estate taxation, entirely unrelated to the consumer protection under EU legislation. Regrettably, the consumer was informed of our limitation in addressing the matter.<\/p>\n<p>The consultations highlighted the importance of informed consumer actions and reiterated the necessity for businesses to adhere to the legislative frameworks in place to safeguard consumer rights.
