Weekly Report, 2026-06-15 to 2026-06-21

During the week of June 15 to June 21, 2026, the Service Juridique provided consumer counseling through various communication channels, addressing a range of issues that emerged during this period. In total, we conducted 15 consultations, employing platforms such as Telegram, Messenger, phone calls, video calls, and Reddit to reach the individuals seeking assistance.

In five instances, inquiries were centered around pricing transparency. Consumers expressed concerns that the prices displayed at the point of purchase did not match those at checkout. In these cases, we advised consumers to document all evidence of misleading pricing and submit a complaint through the appropriate channels where applicable.

Six consultations involved issues of unfair business practices. Among these, two focused specifically on unfair practice in cold calling. Those affected were advised to register their numbers on do-not-call lists and report persistent offenders to the relevant consumer protection bodies.

The topic of food supplements arose in four consultations, where consumers were advised on how to verify the authenticity of claims made by manufacturers and the importance of consulting healthcare professionals before consumption.

Two inquiries dealt with health claims in food. Here, our guidance focused on educating consumers about EU regulations that require health claims to be substantiated by scientific evidence, encouraging them to report unsubstantiated claims to us for further investigation.

Travelers’ rights in air travel were discussed in three cases. The advice given here was to familiarize travelers with their rights under EU Regulation 261/2004 and how to file compensation claims for cancellations or delays.

Finally, we encountered one instance of pseudo medicine/health products not related to food, where counsel was provided on recognizing non-compliant products and how to file a report if they suspect fraud.

During this period, there was one instance where the consultation could not be completed successfully as the issue fell outside the remit of our consumer protection scope, specifically concerning matters of real estate rent. This was communicated to the consumer, clarifying the boundaries of our advisory capabilities.

This week counseling was provided by WhizzBang Viadrina.
